Lunarly Review: the subscription box for witchy self-care
I’ve had my eye on Lunarly ever since I came across a Buzzfeed article about it. It’s a monthly subscription box for US! Modern witches, sorceresses, rebels, and misfits. What makes Lunarly particularly witchy is that it is, as you can guess from the name, all about the moon.
The boxes are delivered just in time for the New Moon, which in the Wiccan tradition is the time for setting new intentions and inspiring growth. Each New Moon is named, and November’s moon is a Beaver Moon:
Not only do you get a bunch of natural self care products, you also get a plant(!)
As someone who has killed a lot of plants in her life, I am taking this plant as an opportunity to challenge myself to keep it alive for more than a month. I managed to keep a succulent around for a good six months once, but when I moved I didn’t have anywhere to put it that had enough sunlight. (Note from future dominique: the above plant survived 2 weeks ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
But anyway, back to the box! Here’s what was inside:
Cocoa Butter Chapstick
Omg this stuff smells like heaven. It basically smells like a bakery or the Hershey’s chocolate museum. The clean ingredient list makes me confident it wont have a longterm drying effect like a lot of the name brand chapsticks.
Incense + Incense Holder
I loved that the incense is straight from India. Even cooler was that the scent reminded me of my favorite restaurant Dishoom. The incense permeated my space quite quickly, and even a few hours later I could still smell it.
Pei Wei Wei Natural Deodorant
This was a unique one to try! Unlike drugstore deodorant, this one’s consistency is more like a paste. The downside is that my body is pretty impervious natural deodorants, and this one was no exception.
Rose Quartz
For some reason my quartz was on the less pink side of things. Also fun fact I just learned is that the word “quartz” is Greek for ice. The lack of rosiness aside, it’s always great to add a new crystal to my collection. I’ve started keeping them by my desk instead of my bed because then I actually see them more.
Lunarly retails for $40/month. With the holidays coming up it’s the perfect gift for the witchy gal (or whoever) in your life. You can check their site out here!
