A few Fridays ago I went to Beautycon Pop's Feel Good Friday event, which was marketed as an "influencer" event but there were so many people there that it felt more like a way to get people to come more than anything else.
Each room was meant to have an empowering theme, but most of that got lost in how pretty the rooms are.
My (and most likely everyone's) favorite room was the "Rihanna" room: all diamond everything. They set up a fake pool filled with silver confetti, champagne glasses filled with giant plastic diamonds, and mirrored walls. There was a line to take pictures in that room. Luckily there were about 20 or so staff members each ready to take your photo if need be.
As far as the rooms go, they were less desirable than other "instagram museums" due to the heavy branding all around. The best spots in each room usually prominently featured a brand's logo, which makes the photo a little less gram-worthy.
The gift shop at the end features women-founded beauty products, which I thought was a fun twist. There was also a salon area sponsored by Macy's where you could get your hair and makeup done for free.
Should you go to Beautycon? Unless you're a die-hard make-up fanatic, probably not. But maybe that's the point?
